It’s a horse!
So I had this grand concept for an image based on the Hitchcock movie, Marnie. And no, I’m not some kind of film buff who loves name dropping the more obscure Hitchcock titles, we just randomly watched this movie once while at a bed and breakfast and I was thinking about it the other day. Without going into too many details of the film, I’ll just say that the concept was a reared golden horse in the middle of the frame, two darker horses watching on from the background, a fox in the foreground beneath the main horses feet, all surrounded and framed by trees… oh and in the middle of a thunderstorm. I know, sounds like something that would be spray painted on a van, but I think it fits with the movie quite well. Anyway, the point of this is to show how impatient I am. After drawing the horse, I didn’t think I’d want to continue. Perhaps someday I’ll finish the full image. For now, it’s a horse. Just a horse.

New poster from Kevin Tong

“Tetris Heart-” poster by Kevin Tong. More information at http://tragicsunshine.com/newsletter/?p=1823
So I usually don’t post links here, but Kevin Tong is having a contest for a free copy of this print and I figured I’d shamelessly enter by linking to it here. But can you blame me? That’s a beautiful print.
Last year we attended the Austin Renegade Craft Festival and we purchased a mystery tube (3 random prints) from Kevin. I had never seen his artwork before but they were my favorite from the show. I was recently looking up artists who have done work with Mondo Tees and noticed his name but couldn’t quite remember why. After searching through his portfolio I noticed the 3 prints we previously bought. Even after looking at tons of poster artists online I think Kevin is still my favorite – great compositions, great use of color, and always really interesting content.
